About This Dog for Adoption

Mia's ideal home

Meet the incredibly beautiful Mia. She is a gorgeous 18 month old Siberian Husky crossed with an Alaskan Malamute looking for her forever home. She could live with another, similar sized, calm dog in the home, pending a successful meet at the centre. She can live with older teenagers (14+) who are confident with big dogs and understand that Mia may be shy initially, so will need some time to find her feet in her new home, after which she will show her fun, playful side. Mia isn't used to being left at home alone for longer than a couple of hours at a time, so owners that are around for most of the day initially would be perfect but this can be built up gradually as she settles in.

Could you be Mia's perfect match?

Mia is an amazing girl, with so much potential. Her ideal family would be an active home that will take her on lots of fun, new adventures. She's high-energy, wants to say hello to every dog that she sees and she can be strong on lead so her new family should be prepared to work on her loose lead walking and recall training - she's not much of a foodie but a game of tug is a great reward for learning. Mia is definitely one for the Husky fans and will make a great addition to her new home.

Malamute Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Alaskan Malamute.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Malamute Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
