About This Dog for Adoption

Luna's ideal home

Luna can live with other dogs and children around the age of 10. She is house trained and can be left alone for four hours or so without concern.

Could you be Luna's perfect match?

Stunning senior Husky Malamute cross Luna is sadly bringing the new baby out in rashes, so the family have had to make a very hard decision to rehome her. She is simply beautiful and a very calm girl who takes everything in her stride and happily says a polite hello to people she meets. Luna is used to being brushed and having her coat taken care of but she doesn't enjoy being bathed, so her new family must be sure to keep on top of her daily grooming. She is very happy to be around other dogs and has lived with a Labrador previously, though she can be a little wary of small dogs having been attacked by Jack Russells in the past. Luna is still an active girl but she no longer accompanies her owner mountain biking! At 11 years old her walks have shortened a little but she still enjoys them and is happy to jump in the car to go somewhere new. She can be worried by large vehicles such as buses and trucks so best to keep her off any very busy roads.

Malamute Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Alaskan Malamute.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Malamute Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
